These guys are! I have to say, we purchased a a tomato plant toward the end of spring, and it already had a few green guys on it. We cared for that plant. We loved it so much. The tomatoes turned red, more of them showed up. We excitedly picked them and sliced into the first one, and WHAT THE HECK!?! They were horrible. Super pithy. Hardly any flavor. What a disappointment.
This plant, however, we started from a seed. It is already two times the size of the one we purchased. And, seems to be pretty vibrant. I can't wait until these little guys are ready to be eaten!
And, there are these guys. Also started from seeds... we've got a delicious salsa in the works! :)
And our basil is still going super strong! I love the way it looks. I love the way it smells. And, I especially love the way it tastes. There is nothing quite like Paul's homemade pesto on homemade pasta! YUM!!!! We have delicious caprese salads, and other fun treats, but if you've got a great recipe that includes fresh basil, I would LOVE to give it a try!
